One man log splitting service

Larch sells well as firewood near me.  I think as softwood goes (from what is available here that is) then it's pretty decent firewood.  I have a mate that just sells that, always sells out.  Small scale (a few hundred bags a year as a sideline) but works for him.  He just buys it in by the lorry load.  More expensive than a few years ago but obvs still worth it as he's a stingy twat and wouldn't do it otherwise.

Are they any good? I'm trying to see if I can find some work for it before I buy one which may be a little difficult.

Good tools imo

I’ve the 35t model, bit slow and rough around the edges ( welding is not pretty) but does the business and never had any issues. Made up some tables for either side as has been previously mentioned and converted to single hand operation.

Tis a bit slow but never had anything it wont spilt. had some old big beech unions down 2/3 years. U could tell it was struggling as it starts hammer but went threw um. Am happy with it. If the ram met the splitter plate am thinking it would cut through across the grain. Just gota get me son arborist to cut straight as if angled cuts its a pain very rarely use it upright. Straight grained ash just do it by hand. Yeah converted to one handled op.

A 22ton is around 1.5 litres an hour when the 6.5 Hp is running full scream, you can run them a little slower to save the old ears and make life a little more comfortable as it's not a race.

Never tried the MDL diesel tho, but assume anything running at 3600rpm is equally loud regardless of fuel type.
