Looking for green hard wood.

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Yup, i'm sure I'm yet another person on here hunting for green wood.

I'm in Pontypool, I have an old Volvo estate and I'm happy to collect within a 20 mile radius.

Maybe somebody can help a guy out. Down on my knees money wise, like most at the moment.

Cheers,

Barney

Most success is generally had through contacting local companies, especially if you are after a regular supply.  If really desperate most pallets can now be burnt and are already dried wood (look up pallet stamps, they tell you about how the wood is treated).  Trouble is nails and the work to obtain a fairly small amount of wood from each pallet.  Not the best but they are cheap and generally plentiful.

Green wood is great but it will not be ready to burn this year...

Your title says hard wood, are you particular for wanting what everyone else wants?

This week I have had 4 (ford focus) car loads of leylandii (boot + back seat till I worry about the suspension) just from being out and about and asking. The ash tree next to it... the house owners had that but the soft wood "help yourself"
