Deer fencing price estimate?

Looking to enclose a small field. 

 

2m high. 70 metre straight run, 40 metre straight run and a 50 metre straight run (rest of area has existing high fencing. 

 

South Oxfordshire. 

 

Any ideas on rough cost fully supplied and installed.

Lots of variables.   I’d go for peeled Chestnut stakes and strainers 

Decide what type of mesh 

 

Clear the run of the fence line in advance for the contractor. It’ll make it swift and easy.  
 

It’ll take no time to put that length of fence In using a decent machine.

You'd be a busy man at that price. Don't think you can even get the materials for that. Need 9ft stakes, 10ft stakes etc. Decent quality deer net £350 odd for 100m etc

 

I'd reckon somwhere around £1200-1400 for materials. About a grand for labour.

Yup, it'll be 20 quid a metre at least for such a short run. I'd want 4k and even then I still wouldn't want the job. Hate fencing, deer fencing even more so.

I don't mind fencing if good ground and easy runs! but there's very little money in it for the outlay. Hard to see what's underground before you start a job and there's always someone who whacks up shit fencing up for f-all so that's what your up against in pricing.

I only do standard livestock netting but assuming there's no gates or anything I would guess around 2k plus vat. Ideally you want a digger knocker for the high stakes but actual erection costs shouldn't be massively high.

Yes I did underestimate that. I’ve only put deer wire up twice so was trying to think back. 
 

wire £250 per 100m from mcveigh Parker so that’s quite reasonable 

 

I get a nice price on chestnut direct from a local coppicer so I’m probably getting a decent deal there. 
 

knocker wise I sub in a friend with a tracked knocker. 300kg Weight. . He’s charging me £500 a day on that.  It always seems a fair price when I use him so never shopped around. Plus he’s a decent hard worker and flies along. I take it from those of you that own them I’m getting good value there ??
 

120 metres for posts and wire would be done by lunch. 
 

buy yeah maybe more around 2 k inc vat.

Removed half the width of the hedge , put the deer wire in then the remainder was traditionally laid on the other side.  Looked great this summer
