Morning all,

Sorry to hear of your vet problems Doug, and your loss of your whippet Bob. It just doesn't inspire confidence when you have the sort of consultation you got, vet clearly not up to date with what is in the notes.

I imagine that with a lot of vet practices being bought up by big firms who then employ vets, on the cheap, it is not going to be like a practice owned and run by the vets working in it.

On a brighter note I have found new levels of excitement  in the last 48 hours. One thrill was ordering a shower stool online, and the other was having my first good wash since my knee replacement. I think having been working until my op, including climbing maintaining core strength, has put me in a good position for recovery. I am more than happy with my mobility so far on crutches. I just feel for the older frailer people who live alone, or with a frail partner, who have to get through the post op period. Onward and upward.

My dad had tib-fib surgery on Friday morning, no external metalwork thank god, but lots of metal inside. 79, definitely not climbing trees up to his surgery date. Not going to be easy!

(Conversely, I was skiing the day before my ACL surgery,  on June 26th 2018... that probably helped with the rehab!)

Simple job for me today, garden tidy up for someone. Thank God, I could do with the rest.
