I use one of these:

DA6823, arb portable twin compressor kit for Series 1, Series 2, Series 3, 101 Forward Control...

Yes, it will do what you ask, but it is not really in the same price bracket.

Now i do like that, but having seen the price, no thanks.. £650?? Yeah right. You would have to be nuts. Another 200 and you could buy a proper compressor with a honda engine on it.. Another 300, [so £950] and you could get a decent job like this..

By the time you've added battery and charger the Makita is £500

eh more like £200?

Probably not the same blowing power as a compresser though but the batteries plus charger useful if you want other makita tools....

The 40v (xgt?) version comes in a bundle with 3 batteries and a charger for £500. So yeah, you’re right basically. £500 is tabloid pricing.

I have the aldi ferrex version, cost 20 quid and I already had the battery and charger from my cheap drill and grinder. With the football inflator nozzle it is okay for air filters and basic blowing crud off a saw in the field. A bit pedestrian as the nozzle-airflow combination limits it to 11psi in use (it maxes out at 36psi anyway) and I only use it a minute or so at a time. It does car and bike tyres but I wouldn't attempt it on a tractor tyre.

I  use a mini "beard" brush from ebay in the woods but an  air compressor at home

Handy for cleaning round the fuel & chain oil cap holes when re fueling & under a clutch cover

I am not the only one that is careful and fusses about such things then?? That is good to hear.. I was a bit worried that if i went on a chainsaw course that they would all laugh at me for doing this..
