basically a stunt fell is where you prob should have climbed and dismantled, but felled anyway for the hell of it-in the words of mr hill, saving time isnt a crime

 

heres todays/this mornings job, can prob qualify as a stunt fell. poplar, back leaner leaning over road, car park-dont dent, bt line running inline with fell on left, and sign to miss on right. i aimed to get close to the sign, as would rather wipe the sign out that the wire!

the first tree was all weighted towards the house, the branches from the tree on the left spread past the tree on both sides so a tug line was used just to make sure it did as it was told. the second tree was a first fell for the guy felling (using proper-ish cuts) and we had a bet wether it would whip the tractor:thumbup:

pics of popular tree that i had priced to climb but due to injuring my back couple days before i decided to fell. took fence down and had just enough space in car park at that angle to fell it. pleased i did as the base was badly decayed.

Does this qualify as a stunt fell? I thought we spend time trying to fell close to an object, why not just fell the object?

one from today end of the line of conifers, back leaning over the house all the weight in the opposite direction, got the landy winch half way up it, then redirected so it was about pulling it about double the angle where i wanted it to land. the idea behind that being it would pull it upright and the weight at the back would snap the hinge and it would fall sideways. exactly what did happen only got pics after i fell it from behind and then half way through clearing it away, obvious targets were the house and the glass house with swimming pool inside and the electric wires running down the side. all in all saved a hell of alot of hassle

Plenty of residual wall in that tree, climb and rig no problems.

 

your lucky that holly was there to stop the butt going off to the side and taking that wall out!
