I am but want a device that is smoother on a moving rope when I’m doing conifers and small trees.

I would go Cousin atrax then.

If you wanted more grip then they do a 12m rope that is meant to work really well with the zz.

But the atrax is made foe the zz.

I’m following this with interest Al, I need a new rope for double as well.

Atrax sounds great, need to feel it in my hand first.

Ive just swapped from Atrax to Black widow. Very similar rope design only the BW is a touch fatter so easier on the hands. Both run very well through my SJ3.

That’s interesting mate.

I’m currently on Flow for double with the ZZ and really like it.

The hi-viz orange is a great colour in the tree, probably stands out more than the Atrax colours.

I’ve got an annoying nick about 8m from the splice. It needs retiring to tag line duties really.

Yep i think i read somewhere its both made by the same company only branded differently, i also had petzl flo orange and nicked it close to the eye splice one day so i just use it now for conifers or pines with a bowline on the end, the yellow atrax is actually much brighter and stands out more than it looks

Can't you just seal it up with a lighter?
