Double climbers

As others have said on large reductions two climber’s of similar ability share the load. On dismantles, especially those using rigging I don’t often see the value in two climbers in the tree. I would say that I can think of a couple of occasions whereby a second climber has come up to flick the rigging line across on some wide poplars and a London plane with multiple targets as it was hard for the groundies to get the line back.

On cut and chuck on wide topped connies it can be helpful to have a second climber up there to pass the stuff to so they can then throw it into the correct garden instead of it birds nesting up.

We used to use two climbers quite a bit in Germany years ago. The brush used to be stacked on site for collection later, so it was easier for the groundies to keep up. On the right job and tree its quite fast.

Two or more climbers up  a large reduction is the way to go I think.

Can you give an example of the right job/right tree please.

Big/ wide/spready .

We used to pretty much strip them down to a single stem before the other guy got down. There was little or no draghing so groundies were always close by.

Working together or just having a side of the tree each?
