Are the plastics painted black or are they black moulds? Either way that saw looks really nice.

Β

I think husky and stihl might sell a few parts if they did some limited edition carbon fibre covers. I know it wouldn't be a big market but it would be a nice thing to do for their dedicated customers.

The black looks nice but the important part is what Mark gets out of the running bits and that isΒ  pretty good. Wide power band and not frantic to use. Mark posted a video of the 550m1 he sent out and I did over a dozen decent sized Spruce in an afternoon like shown in the video, that's no small job for a 50cc saw on a hot day including cutting off buttress so big thumbs up for his work. Now I wonder how a Black Edition would look on the hill.....

So the main man @Crockyhas worked his magic on 2 of my saws. The 572 is a thing of beauty! But the 550 is also a great little saw that I can't wait to use. I'll do a more in-depth look at both saws on the forthcoming weeks. So far, very impressive!

thanks for posting Mike. They look great with those bars. Just don’t get that black one dirty. It’s too pretty πŸ˜‚

Cheers Dave. Good to know they’re out in the woods doing their job. Yeah the black 572’s a good looking saw but it’s all about what’s under the hood πŸ˜‰

The plastics were dyed while the saw was in for some port work. The 5 series saws look great because of the grey crank case.Β
