I often wonder if I'm in the wrong trade. I bought this on a whim last Friday from a local lad who's used it to commute to Manchester for the last 14 months, (60 mile round journey). It had a few niggles, but nothing to write home about, main beam lamp, side light lamp and airbag-cushion warning light on, sorted those and gave it a good look over, there is some play in the steering rack but it's negligible. Paid £450 for it, flipped it today for £800. Two of those a week would do me.

That's a tidy little cash injection for little amount of time/work

2nd hand car market is crazy at the moment

People wacking 10k on nearly new cars, just because they can and know it will sell

Even heard of dealers offering to buy brand new cars back off the owners when they came to pick them up , for 10k more than they paid

This happened to a mate of mine. He bit their hand off, thinking they'd made a mistake. Then after the deal was all done he found out what it was going to cost him to replace his Audi. Hes a smart cookie, surprised he fell for that one.

Not sure it's similar but my brother does that in American with cars and small equipment in general.

Brought a Jeep wrangler for $500. Spruced it up and sorted it out. Came to $1.5k.

Went at auction for $6.5k which has just paid for him and his wife and kid to come to England and insurance included 🤭

The first ones are before, last ones are after

I guess it's how you look at it, both have bought cheap motors, tarted them up and moved them on at a profit.
