Coal man smokeless though I don't know the brand. Experience has shown that DIY warehouse / Petrol station / supermarket smokeless will do the job but is more expensive (marketed I think to the Christmas day, once a year fire market) with more ash (which appears to be mostly a sand filler)

I used to buy supermarket and b&m’s but always found it wet. Switched to the local coal merchant who delivers in open sacks 25kgs I think and it’s far better! Plus saves the hassle of lugging it around and getting muck in the boot of the car

There are different types made for different things so tell the merchant what is for. For example I got given a couple of sacks marked as'for open fires' and I used it up in the stove.  I had to have vents wide open, got not a lot of heat and lots of ash.  It's obviously made to ash up and burn slow in an open fire.

I wouldn't burn it along with wood, burn one or the other.  Wood burns to give steam, smokeless has some sulphur in it and burns to sulphur dioxide. Steam and sulphur dioxide make a strong acid and it attacks your flue liner.

And your boiler if you have one.

Will affect it over time but if the chimney is kept hot then it won't condense so much onto the chimney liner?

Yes no problem if the flue liner stays above the dew point ( which will be somewhat below 100C)
