Russia Invades ukraine

I reckon the Dems would have given green light for missile targets inside Russia even if they'd won. I don't see anything odd about the timing. The Germans still won't deliver a similar system - Taurus.

Germany is the biggest arms donor in Europe, but they are scared. Everyone is scared. The Swedes issuing recommendations to stock up on food etc to see out the apocalypse.

Most of the West would like to see Putin retreat, but they sense a real nuclear threat.

The US has lead the way on this, under Biden. Yes Biden could have sent the whole lot at once at the start, but no one really knows what's happening in this game of chicken.

I have been thinking for weeks now how cool it would be if Ukraine could find a way to re direct the drones back at Russia . Bugger me dead with the rough end of a pinnacle they are now doing it !  Apparently they send the incoming drone  a " spoof " sat co ordinate that is somewhere in Russia or Belarus . How neat is that !

Interesting view of the Russians by a man and a country who should know. Finland was in the same position as Ukraine . Finnish men stood their ground and fought against all odds to protect its borders and sovereignty. We as a country should be up in arms at how political parties are allowing the destruction of our armed forces and national identity.

Not going to watch it for an hour, but is he talking about the winter war of 39/40?

You know that Finland ceded nearly 10% of its territory?

Yes I do Mick, but they also managed to survive as an independent nation so not sure of your point. I spent a lot of time in Finland and had the pleasure to speak to the mrs Grandfather before he died who fought in that and continuation war later on. He took me to the  old trench systems at Hanko which are preserved as part of a museum etc. The Finns are rightly proud of how they fought.
The last of our 3 sons is heading there in January to do his national service. The article is about Russian attitudes, in many respects not much has changed.

My point was that in Russia the outcome is viewed from a very different perspective.
