Best locations in the UK to be a tree surgeon

I think at the moment there is an abundance of work all over the UK. Down South there is certainly a massive demand for staff from groundies to consultants. Depends what kind of work you want as well, for example in London you may be doing a lot of street tree pollards and the like.

Depends on what sort of tree surgery you like doing, if you enjoy fiddle farting around on the ends of branches to remove a couple of feet then I’d say major conurbations in the UK should be your destination.

If it’s up/down conifers, negative rigging and getting wet then the  north west coast of North America is calling.

Most anywhere in the UK will test your skills in lowering through telephone lines, over greenhouses and flowerbeds and negotiating dogshit filled gardens, no parking and wanker clients.

 

If you can spend one full year in London, doing all that, then you’re ready for anything.
