When they start looking really nice it’s time to hit them again!

If you take the time and effort to snip off the regrowth individually they can look great.

Nothing wrong with pollarding, especially if its done at the correct height/age of tree to fit the landscape. Original post was looking to see if I was wrong with the x2 seasonal pruning

Surely if it was done at the end of the season there would be no growth on it now?
 

The guy who did them before found someone more gullible so didn’t bother doing the church this time.
