Hollow flooded tree

Just saw this video - never seen this happen in real life but I assume it’s a tree with a big crown that has collected water and the trunk has rotted from the inside?

saw this on a tree that was about 6 times bigger than that a few years ago gallons of water came out

Had this on an old willow about 15 years ago - took a couple of minutes to drain out

Shook old sweet chestnut do this to a much lesser extent without being hollow

I’ve took quiet a few down what’s been like that it’s not very nice when you get one when the water is stagnant and you get covered in it as your cutting through it.  🤢

Had this on an old dead cherry last winter terrible smell too !
