what about this:thumbup1:its a 10ton merc lorry(ag reg) side tipper, rear hiab, hiab winch200bhp mog engine, 4 wheel drive, diff locks, low box, front 5 ton winch and it has a rear pto, you can stick a chipper on the back and make a huge chip box for it, or tow a big old chipper no worries. I have had mogs, a small one and a huge one, and this is about the middle, very manouverable and as wide as a transit:biggrin:

Stu started out with Matt/Buzz but decided to let him do things his own way!!

He then proceeded to purchase a mog and then change his company name, then purchase another mog and then go bust!

I do like your 7.5 tonn though, have looked into purchasing one but when doing a balance sheet mog still comes out on top.

stuart i just brought a 10t 4x4 iveco that is much better then a mog and more versatile then running a mog with pto chipper on back. I just need bigger chipper for her im sure you will see her in the yard in the next week

How so??????????????

The little merc i have is a bit small for my needs as we work in london alot. Im going to sell it in the next few weeks. Unimogs are exspensive to buy and run compared to any lorry. The only advantages you have on a mog is the ability is to run a pto chipper rather then dragging it around.

most of my work i need to fit in an 8ft gateway, so unit, engine and trailer surgestion's would be good.

Regards Fat Boy

A 1600 or 1650 is the dogs, a 200HP 1600 is even better!!

A 1200 or 1400 would also be good, but only 7.5t not 11t.

Some of the 1250 are 10t.

You can pull a 13t trailer with all the above,

have you taken into account the repair bills and the cost of parts compaired to a standard lorry i think the operators licence and the upkeep of a truck could work out cheaper than the buying and running of a mog.

Thinks its a boys toy image with a lot of people.

Would a transit not hold more wieght wise than a landrover i thought landrovers were only able to carry 1 ton and tow 3.5 ton?

How can a mot every year, road tax and 3X the insurance not to mention the parking issues of 7.5 tonn and above, compare to free road tax, no MOT, 1/2 priced fuel and really cheap tractor insurance!

Most of my work is within 15 miles of base though and my main groundie cannot drive.

Also Stu wont be at the yard much longer, I have better things to spend my money on!
