Just passing by the  factory shop in our local town and spotted this!

Eleven pieces of kiln dried for £14

I really believe it would be cheaper for me and easier to sell my firewood and go back to North Sea gas!

Funny old world!

Future firewood optimism indeed!

Mental they must be selling them at that price

Man in Aldi the other week was buying a bag of logs, £11 (maybe 2 bags), If I had spare in the garage I would have had a word - could have filled his car boot for not a lot more than that.

I am going to make my logs into Swedish candles, £10 each, 6 of them a month will pay to heat my house in the winter

£8 a bag in Tesco the other day worked out at about 80p per piece of wood. They don't have a sell by date on them either so they'll not be getting any cheaper.

My local Tesco had Coal and Kindling reduced to clear. The Kindling was £4.50 down to 50p and soon went. Then Tesco re-stocked with the very same Kindling a week later. Very odd. I guess its more to do with stock levels than sell by dates?

I was at the BP garage in Hexham last week and they had small nets of kiln dried for £10.99.

Some fag packet maths led to the conclusion that my full Transit load at a like for like price would be about £2k!

People in holiday cottages nearby that want to buy a few late at night after traveling up from London.

To be fair though, in a BP garage a tuna sandwich will also cost you £10.99

And as for the price of petrol and diesel! Being only a simple soul, I cannot quite understand that if it was Putin’s war that put up the prices, surely the oil companies would be having to pay more for it so would be making less profit which does not tally with their record profits this year

i have just received a massive bill for some fertiliser and the price of wheat has dropped so I am not expecting much profit this year.  I will be like Clarkson’s Farm and making Diddly Squat!
