Didn,t do timing and carb doesn,t have limiters, but maybe Andrew(Shavey) had sorted that because he had run it up before i had it,just tweaked screws a bit and she was flying

Didn't do anything to yours  but taking the cat out always makes a tremendous difference and a richen up the outlet isn't far out

I use the Husqvarna 450e for processing a decent amount of wood for our woodburner. As long as the chain is kept sharp it's sweet as. Can be a bit slow through the larger rounds, and I'll be getting a higher powered saw (hopefully an XP) for that sort of work. The 450 is great for most work you would do around the home though.

How does this Makita oil the bar?

I opened the box up last night to check the saw, and my my it looks very good, but the bar is odd.  It has no little hole for the oil!  Have I got a duff bar, or does this saw oil the chain differently?

It oils through the opposite side of the tension hole - you'll see a small slot going up into the bar groove.

AHH, thought it must do that or use the tension hole in the other edge of the bar although I didn't see the slot in the bottom of the groove to let the oil out (it must be there... I'll check again), cheers.

Take the bar off, run the saw and see where the oil comes out?

While it's normally a very bad idea to check the price on something soon after you've bought it, for some reason I did just that yesterday, and Amazon have put the price of the 4300 back to £374.  I wonder why it dropped so much?  One of life's mysteries I guess, but at least I managed to benefit!

I think I also benefited from the strange covid related circumstances they seem to be driving the prices of lots of used things quite high.  I sold my ms180 for £121.  So the upgrade to a New and bigger, better saw only cost £150 plus a couple of spare chains.  I feel very lucky!  Now if only it would stop raining and I could get out and try it!
