So have any of you heard of the ICO data protection commissioners ,we got a letter from them stating if we porcess personal data and or use cctv at our yard for crime prevention we must pay a fee even if you have a dash cam in your work vehicle they want you to pay a Data Protection Fee ,seems like something Al Capone would have come up with but hey our governments are the biggest bunch of gangsters ,I was so F###ed Off ,taking the Piss I thought ,just wondering if anyone else had come across this .

Yep, pretty much all businesses should be registered with the ICO. 

 

I think there might be a questionnaire on their website to see if you need to register

Personal data I understand but cctv in a private yard?  Or does it only apply if there is public access?

Wouldn't surprise me, but that means theres a stack of people liable for fines posting stuff on social media!

No on the website it says if you are using cctv to deter crime you must pay even if you have dash cam in work truck  ,but there is a simple questionaire one thing I think it said was do you use peoples data but that could be anything a delivery address or where to take that tree down it all could be called data ,its a bloody Piss Take if you ask me

If you hold information about people, you are a data controller. As such, you need to register and have systems in place to make sure the data is secure and only used for lawful purposes. The alternative is to let businesses do whatever they like with our data, with no regulation.

Never herd something so daft in my life there is always some body wanting screw you. Someone has always got to take a cut and have there fingers in pie 🥧. Someone says you have got to pay someone to protect you or your belongings from scrotes world 🌎 has gone mad 😡 👍
