Damaged astroturf advice

Had a contractor around today and he’s managed to rip my astroturf by throwing logs from a height. Did ask him to be careful.

Is it fair to ask for insurance details to get it put back to how it was before he arrived?

Grateful for your opinions.

If it was a fence panel or a pane of glass in the green house you would ask for it to be replaced so why not the plastic grass? If the contractor decides to take it on the chin or claim on the insurance is there decision.

Good luck getting sorted.

Should I withhold paying until it’s sorted?

Just feel daft for not going out and stopping him chucking the stuff down. Assumed he would take care and knew my concerns. Did mention it when he started and also asked the groundie.
