7.5 is a separate test like class 2, requires a medical and theory as well so still much more expensive than car + trailer.

Is £50 more really that much?

it might take you a year or more to get a test appointment at the present time someone i know waited for nearly a year for the theory test that they passed last week and its towards the end of October for the driving test unless there is a cancelation

We currently have a 4 month waiting list.

For arb work I really strongly suggest you look at C1 & C1E.

Virtually all 3500kg vehicle will be overloaded.

The rules on 3500kg vehicles will eventually be the same as for bigger ones so get ahead of the game now.

With me BE costs £650 inc test fee

To gain C1 (up to 7500kg) costs:-

medical £70

Theory & hazard course & tests £70

Practical course & test 700

If you need DCPC course & tests £220

To add C1E to tow a combine combination up to 12000kg will add another £700.

@Justme if you already have the 3.5ton towing on a car licence then do the 7.5t licence can you still tow the 3.5t with a 7.5 or does that come back to class 1?

You seem to be confusing C1 with class one.

If you have BE then take C1 7500kg you can still only tow 750kg with eth C1.

Dont take BE take C1 & then C1E you then get BE as well FOC.

Class 1 is a lorry up to 32000kg towing a trailer over 750kg up to a 44000kg GTW unless you also hold an STGO

With the c1 do you have to do 35 hours of training every 5 years like with the class 2?

That depends on if you need CPC or not.

Not all driving needs CPC.

Regardless of C1 c or CE ect. Its the use that counts.

Just asking justme
So  what licence  do you need to pull a 1.5 t trailer with  the trannie  or a land rover  when you say with a c1  all you can tow is 750kg

If you want to tow a trailer above 750kg you need the +E entitlement.

So vehicle up to 3.5ton is B (car, transit, Land Rover) plus trailer (more than 750kg) is B+E.

It gets more complicated by when you took your trailer test as to if it’s a trailer up to 3.5ton or any weight trailer.

A 7.5 ton vehicle is C1 plus trailer is C1 + E.

Class 2 hgv is C (upto 32t), class 1 is plus trailer or C+E. (44tonGVW)

Pretty sure that’s right.
