Not here!  The forecast has Monday night into Tuesday morning as the only time in the next week when the temperature's expected to drop into single figures (8-9C)!

About 5c here so put the fire on.  Nice bit of spruce to get embers quick and then a lump of Ash and a lump of Oak.  Seasoned for a year, nearly two.

Bloody hot now though.  I think I need to open a door or two.

Also, it’s my first time burning field maple; this stuff was a bugger to split in early 2020 but crickey, it doesn’t half give of some heat and last a good while.

So zero heating or using something else?

Gas, well insulated house so heating down low, don`t have a great deal of firewood so keeping it for when it`s really cold!

I've had 8-10 fires so far but it's sunny and mild again so hopefully won't need the matches again until the end of the week.  Swept the flues in September for the first time in 2 years, just light powdery soot, just over an ash pan full in each.  Not bad, and that's after 22m3 through the two (total).
