i can split faster with an axe than a hydraulic splitter, have the axe any day, but hard work, I use it as therapy!

Only trouble is, now i have a few years behind me, i can only outsplit the electric for about an hour, then im knackered:001_rolleyes:

 

Getting real keen at buying one now, not sure if i can get another luxury expense past the boss:girlshit:

I've got £50 says you can't.

Don't get me wrong I love axes and old tools and stuff but there's no way anyone can out compete a splitter over say half an hour. I have a gransfors hatchet BTW which I really love and it takes a razor sharp edge.:001_smile:

i use the large splitting axe. got it of greenwoodworks.com, he lives just up the road from me so dropped it of on his way home that night. I would recomend gransfors to anyone best axe ive ever used by far. i also bought a smaller one as i toy it looked cool

I have got the carving axe present to myself:thumbup:

 

Cool David, Ill be getting a smaller one as a present to myself soon, Not sure which to go for tho, Small forest axe or a hatchet. :thumbup:

half an hour, clean logs, no problem will beet you hands down, are we talking a single bladed splitter though, has to be a fair game!:biggrin:

I'd still win even if i took the 4 way knife off.:001_smile:
