I reckon with something as knot free as that, straight grain, the old Fiskars would go through it a lot quicker to get the first cuts done, after than B&Qs finest £7 blunt hatchet will do the kindling far faster. Might change my mind when I get older and more sensible but for now....

I'm older and sensible and get the kids to do it. Youngest has been splitting and selling nets of kindling since he was 4! He's got more money in the bank than me!!

As for speed, they would out split everything other than a proper kindling machine.

I need to get more sense and put The Boys to work then, they have more money than me but it's all my money that I give them as pocket money!

Mine have to earn their pocket money and the youngest quickly realised that hard graft led to more money, which is why he started selling the kindling

What do people use that stuff for? It's too small for logs and in my mind too small and awkward to use as kindling. Is it just loaded into boilers by the sack?

PS, what time does the video of fast kindling start? 😉
