Not sure how long your chimney will last burning leylandii mate.

 

Why do you say that out of interest mate?

 

This stuff is burning very clean - isn't even blackening the glass with the air shut right down.

i've sold loads of it the last couple of years,pushed it up to 60 quid a cubic metre now and no complaints,i also mix in about 10% with hardwood loads for woodburners,cut,split and stacked in spring its bone dry by september

I take all the conny out of the logpile and save it for myself.

 

A chap the other week asked me for a load of just Oak, this week he asked for another load but asked me for a mixed load as the oak burnt too slow

Only that in general if it isnt really really dry there can be serious chimney cleaning issues. Not huge deal, but something to be aware of IMO.:001_smile:

Hooray for conneys, i let min season for a couple of years then use it, its great stuff and ive got bloody loads of the stuff lying around.

Shouldn't worry unduly, Andy, 90% of the stuff that goes on my stove is conifer - including Leylandii. 12yrs and counting, never had an issue. As has been pointed out here time and again, if wood is well seasoned you'll have no problems.:thumbup1:
