I do similar. I know to stay out of COVID or politics threads as thats where the biggest whoppers tend to congregate. Its a problem when threads get taken over and its just completely irrelevant ramblings on every thread. It gets old quickly

You can put some of the issues down to preconceived issues with some members views of what you are, what you represent, your principles and how you conduct yourself on the site. Very difficult to judge from a distance and lambaste someone for no good reason without knowing the person involved.

Arbtalk has been a good forum for me, it has given me a business and have met with a load of good fellas, many that I have known for years now and are always welcome for a chat, advice, a cuppa and a helping hand where possible.

Unfortunately some forget that you get out of this forum exactly what you put in to it.

Yep think you have your work cut out ,especially when some of your long termers and the author of this post  are guilty of it ,even when there was chance of making some money for charity......good luck bud

Not one to forgive and forget are you frammo. Bated spud tonight for no need what i read but he raised the bar and let it go. Spuds names pops up everywhere on the forum regarding ported saws and by other members who has used his services and to add he is one member who i have not had much contact with, A good reputation is hard earned and what i have come across spud seems the real deal as well as someone else who i buy from Rob D  chainsaw bars uk and would certainly recommend rob to anyone.

I didn’t realise you were in on it from the first day I posted .or the pm s he sent me .might have a good reputation at telling someone a saw is ported when it isn’t .he’ll bring the Chinese in next .what you don’t realise is by him lieing to customers and them lapping it up it gives proper tradesmen and engineers a bad name .any fool with 3 tools can get a chainsaw going . I carry 10 to 15 k worth of kit in my van when I go to work .and I tell the truth ......so your point is ...sorry 4 tools forgot screwdriver

I lap nothing up musch and as i said i have had little to do with spud since i joined the forum.I do not know the guy but others speak well from what i have read. To commend someone has 3 or 4 tools is just plain daft but your cornish and would not expect any different. My dad is cornish so used to it 🤣
