‘ere Doug,  have you used this in anger yet?

Hopefully it’s rubbish, as I went down the Husqvarna battery ‘rabbit hole’ and this looked like first Stihl offering to make me potentially regret that decision*

*eye watering initial investment - no way I’m also investing in Stihl battery paraphernalia!

Yes it's been used, I've not heard any of the lads have a good word for it though. Shame because the smaller battery saw is great and gets a lot of use.

The new one just doesn't seem to know its place. No use crosscutting even under a foot diameter, snedding is painfully slow and the auto off function frustrating (think AHPP was bang on with his views on this). Not sure how it compares weight wise with a 261 but nowhere near as nice to hold.

Safe to say we're disappointed.

I just watched a video last night comparing it to my new favourite saw, my MS 261. Not saying it blew the petrol saw away, but in the tests shown,  it outperformed it. Now as to battery life and cost, I suspect that the fact that I could never afford or justify it, makes me confident that I made the only possible choice. From the video though, it's a beast.

Thankyou for your kind words.

I feel better about the Huskys now.

Shame though, as it sure is a pretty looking little thing!

August Hunicke (YouTube) bought one (220T but same switching as far as I know) and made a video about it. He uses it for ten cuts and then uses a different saw for the rest of the video.

My biggest dislike of the Husky 540i range was the naff little semi-chisel .325 chain.

Luckily I’ve managed to switch them to 3/8 picco, so now they all run Stihl full chisel (same as the 200t), which is nice.

(Thanks @Rob D )

I have the angst the opposite way. We're all Stihl battery stuff but the loler guy gave me his husky top handle to try, really wanted to keep it.

If there were no 261 I could see the battery equivalent being of some use, but you definitely bought the better saw!

That is the unforeseen problem with battery stuff.

Once you have got into one system, you are loath to get involved in the other stuff!

I didn't realise he was such a patient man, ten cuts would be a lifetime in YouTube time.

Maybe it was 2 cuts from 5 different angles.
