I have heard of Badgers sharing an earth with a fox but not pheasants sharing a nest with a Partridge ! Just coz I have never seen or heard of it  don't mean it does not happen though ! 😀

Just Googled it and yes there is a picture similar to yours of a nest in Norfolk . No explanation give though ....

Yep I saw that too but did not want to complicate things 😀 Sooo , Gary , based on the Duck thing who do you think has laid in who's nest ? Interesting innit ?

An egg had just dropped from the sky on to our lawn right before my eyes! I just happened to glance out the window at the right time so didn't see the source. I'm guessing an egg stealing bird like a maggie or a seagull.
