neither i would go for a 36" ms66 stihl or the 395 husky.

have spent many hours on both the 3120 and ms88 the 88 is superior but is very much a re vamped 084 some would say for the worse as the 84 has also a manual oiler ,but both saws are based around 20 year old desighns are heavy and low reving.

I haven't spent enough time on Huskys to have an opinion, but the new stihl 88s have overheating problems. I haven't got just one example of this, but about 4 seperate events involving different saws, so its not just a one off. The old ones you could bog down and really keep them pulling wood, the new ones need to have their revs kept up above 5000rpm, or they seize.

Stihl wanted to put a tacho on our current 88, but ah... doesn't really address the problem.

84s dont seem to do this at all.

my 395 with a 28" and evan a 36" out cuts my 372 that has a 24"....

back in the days when we owned a 3120 i could out cut it with a 262 xp hmmmm

I really am impressed with my 395 though.

Ive experienced the amazing seizing ms 88 as well and stihl have taken them back and rebuilt them no questions asked but that doesnt really help you when you have a crane and mewp on site and no saw to finish the job then you burn out a 26"ms46 trying

I've siezed a 880 (on a 48" bar) whilst splitting a big oak butt so a mog & crane could pick it up! Bigger downer was I'd borrowed it from a mate - it was his main saw for milling work!.

I've since got a 660 with a 36" bar and cut from both sides if needed!:icon14:
