You dont need a new side cover just for the chain catcher, there is a chain catcher available that fits in to the bottom av buffer.

prt number 1123 656 7700

Brilliant 👍 saves me £15! Now where does it fit?

Discovered I need to replace another part due to previous chain damage 1123 022 1100 luckily only £2.35

l&s are great for parts but where can I get an exploded diagram?
here 👍

Select a page from the Stihl MS 250 Chainsaw (MS250 C) exploaded view parts diagram to find and buy spares for this machine.

L&S have the exploded parts diagrams. Need to log in, navigate via chainsaws to MS250, should have something 10 or more diagrams....

Yes, prize out the back plug with flat screwdriver and replace with the chain catcher, the other part or the catcher fits into the smaller hole to the left. You may need to prize off the white bumper strip aswell to get the plug out.

Thought I would update this with some pics for future reference of the chain catcher fitted for anyone else looking for one
