New forestry saw 70cc class

Loads of forestry folks on my Instagram feed rave about the 500i. 
 

I have a 572 and like it a lot. It doesn’t feel quite as tough as a 372 perhaps, but I think it’ll hold up ok.

Ok fair play re the 500i . If I was still cutting and I knew it would hold then yep I might have one .  Not tried a 572 but apart from  a few earlier versions that had clutch covers broken it sounds like a winner . My current 70cc saw is a Spud ported 372XP and that's the way it will stay for me !

😍😍😍😍 I bet it’s a ripper! He fettled my 390, I loath taking it out, I prefer to just stand back and admire it! 😂

I had a crack with a 500i the other week and really liked it. Really good throttle response and screams. The guy who owned it said he hasn't had an issues with it at all and it had seen a fair bit of use being filled with a stihl press to fill can and nothing was cracked (although I didn't inspect it). 

 

All saws have their issues. The autotune saws had issues with the solenoid and filters but that was sorted. The feedback on the 500i seems pretty solid in favour of it! 

 

Only thing I would say about the 500i is the AV mounts are very soft so it makes the saw feel "flimsy" even though it's not.

Really recommend the 500i, one of the best saws built. have owned a 462 and 572 but now both gone as the 500i stands head and shoulders above the rest. Somone mention about the weight but i couldn't say ive noticed much of a difference ( im not a big lad )

id say the 462 ive put one through its paces and some since owning 2 1/2years . It drinks less than the 500i i feel, but it does feel plasticky and has some weak spots not to say that  the 572 does too.

 

If your happy double cutting with a 20" all day and then get a 462 but if you want to run a 24" more often then a 572 pulls that bar better imo

i run a 572 in forestry everyday reliable and great power love it highly recommend for the money i was gonna go stihl ms 500i or 462 but just can't justify the extra money

I have been quoted a good price from my local dealer for boyh echo and husky.

Husky for £840

Echo around £100 more than the husky. But with a few sweetners chucked in.

The echo has a good warranty, and the retailer is very good. Will lend me a saw etc if mine breaks, always over and above.

So to my mind the echo seems to be winning as its not just the price it is the aftersales service too, and supporting local business.

Sadly the 500i is just out of my budget. Well over a grand..

the 7310 echo is man awesome saw mate u will not be disappointed i review and test them as well as husky i would have purchased the 7310 but i had the 572 so there was no need for me to buy another 70cc but if i hadn't had the 572 i would have purchased the 7310 without a shadow of dought
