To be fair, aspen is cheaper. They sell motomix too. Maybe I'll give it ago and try the difference. Can't imagine it's much if anything though!

There wont be a difference, was just suggesting it cos 881 is a stihl obviously and their alkylate fuel is motomix, they cant argue on a warranty claim regards wrong mix or anything if your buying from the horses mouth sort of thing. Depends how much you use your saws, Saul (Rough) buys the barrels in of motomix as it knocks the price down a fair bit apparently, and he’ll fairly spunk it with milling 6hrs+ a day i would imagine. Not trying to steer you away from aspen in any way paddy. Was just looking out for ya regards the warranty front. Shouldnt make any difference though really. [emoji106]

Is Aspen 4 and Stihl HP Ultra cheaper than ready mixed Motomix? I thought they are about the same. I've gone over to Motomix now as it's easier to get hold of round here (Mole Valley sell it).

It's definitely more expensive! I've only recently shifted to aspen and I have 3L of HP Ultra to use up so I just buy aspen 4 and mix it otherwise the oil would just sit there and eventually get given away or something!

I appreciate the advice! I just know my local dealer prefers selling aspen (probably more financially beneficial) they have motomix but it doesn't seem to shift 😂

I'll see how I get on with the milling, I won't be a full time miller but I'm sure I will smash through the aspen
