Anchor point snapped

I tested the anchor before ascending-couple of big bounces and there was abit of movement but nothing that isnt normal. It wasnt a massive tree so from the ground it looked sweet as. If im throwing over 20m i try to use a single lense binocular(sure its got a proper name) to make sure its cool to climb on. I think the throwlining anchor points will come up in the accident investigation but i cant really see any other way to be efficient when doing lots of climbs in aday. BUT as we had identified these trees as being abit dodgy then maybe we should of anchored lower and inspected more thoroughly as i ascended to final tie in point. BUT i still would of tied into this particular branch once i got there as there was no visible signs of weakness, even when it split open there was no signs of decay or anything untoward. Ive mentioned in the past that these oaks sometimes fall over for no reason(that we can visually see) so there is definelty something going on thats not right.

David-luckily my ankle was sweet, it was my first thought when i landed but when i got up i realised my neck was the sore bit this time.

ps i got back up and finished the tree out of pure anger at what had happened, then my boss insisted i went to a and e. gotta love adrenalin:001_smile:

So, theres nothing broken, you finished the tree (good man!) and then went to hospital on a trauma bed?! WTF, that must have been more embarassing than anything else?

I have only really worked with one kiwi (owen) and I would have had to break a few major limbs before he would get me the first aid kit let alone an "ambo mate".

I genuinly do hope you are ok!
