Hi I have a question.

Can anyone explain to me what's classed as a fully qualified arborist? Like what tickets would you need or qualifications to actually consider yourself as fully qualified? Or should one only be known as a nptc qualified tree surgeon? Thanks

See post Arb or Tree Surgeon...Eden has just outlined a answer to your questions.

There is a big difference between qualified and experienced, qualified these days is just an essential.

Yeah I get that but what specific tickets/qualifications would someone need to be classed as fully qualified?

There are separate tickets for just about every separate tool and task, the word "fully" would imply you had tickets for the lot. You need to be more specific about what aspect of tree surgery you would like to be involved with.

You’d have to have a recognised and broadly accepted definition of the term ‘arborist’ before you could hope to establish a path towards initial, partial or full ‘qualification.’

Are you, for example, including some / any theory / academic achievements within that term or solely focussing on the practical elements?

I’d suggest there’s a pretty strong argument that you can’t separate the 2 if you want to adopt the fullest sense of the term ‘arborist.’

Maybe the premise of the question is too loose?

How do you define arborist?
