yes if you know what ash looks like, not being funny. grey bark, if its from a narrow diameter tree the bark will be smooth and if its from an older tree it will have rougher bark. google it.:thumbup1:

In time no doubt all logs will have a serial number, explaining wood type, where grown, who cut it complete traceability..........:laugh1:

:lol: in the future suppliers will have to bar code them and the buyer can have a scanner, jobs a good un!!

 

as the posts above mate you can tell by the bark.

I think this guy might not be so keen to rely on pics, he will need a DNA test certificate........
