I got a secondhand gts chipper, however it seems to spit the small brash out without chipping it, is this normal?

I am used to one of the larger greenmec machines which produce an nice small chip which I can leave with clients to mulch but I can't leave this stuff it's too big.

Does/should your model have a screen..it looks like the bits have not been held in the chamber for long enough.

There's not anything after the drum, no screen etc.

Just looked at the manual and there seems like there is not meant to be.

Blade to anvil gap - needs to be credit card gap max...

I think it's the nature of these sort of chippers, spindly little bits can creep through, I've found ( when leaving for customers) feeding it in tips first and pulling it back a couple of times till it gets into the chunkier bit really helps, it's not as much hassle as it sounds and makes a decent product

And gap and blades as has been said, when I got mine the gap was way out, after sorting it difference was massive

Anyone with a CS100 can tell me if the blade/anvil gap be adjusted. Is it shims as there are 2 thin plates with 4 holes in the spares bin. And another similar but a 45 degree kink, without holes which could be a gap gauge. The guy who brought it around was going to show me but I was out at the time & no manual:001_rolleyes:. If anyone knows this I'd appreciate help as I think the gap is too big. Also...how is the blade cassette removed. Thanks in advance.

The right angle piece is the gauge, drop the cassette out by taking off belts and four bolts that hold it in, put the gauge on the anvil and knock the anvil down till blade just brushes over gauge, and beware the star drives when changing blades, they are cack IME

Think the plates with the holes are the shims and the other bit is for checking the gap
