Visited my local sawmill to buy some timber and I had a look at their nearly new TW428. They said it cost nearly £40k and uses hammers to break down the wood into chips. I can't see it on the TW site so I guess its discontinued. If anyone can tell me how it works then I would be much appreciated.

I think it uses hammers to break down the wood into chips...

You mean a 426 - I think they are still available.
