An old oleo Mac 946. Can it be changed to a 3/8 lo pro?

In short - stick to .325 and possibly go to narrow .050 gauge.

My only experience of an oleo mac was years ago when working with my old man,he bought one and after a month we had loads of trouble with it not running right,in the end we were working on a roadside and one morning it wouldn,t start so he grabbed it  and smashed shit out of it on the road,jumped in the truck and off we went and bought two new Husky,s,not relevant to the thread but always makes me smile,he was a short tempered chap my old man

No but it was funny watching him smash it up,it was late 80s and he bought 2 new 254xps and he reckoned they were the best saw he ever used and i still have one of em and it still runs great

Seems you can buy a new one....there's a whole range of tools branded Oleo-Mac Still made in Italy....Not seen one in use, I wonder what their like?
