cone splitter on mini loader?

Anybody run one on a little loader?

Ive got an avant 420 with an auger drive unit already, just thinking about getting a cone to split the bigger lumps up to make them easier to lift on to the Thor vertical splitter.

ive got the small auger torque drive which I use with a post hole borer, it certainly does not seam to struggle with a 10'' auger bit so I don't think it will struggle power wise. The videos on YouTube with excavator mounted cones look like they get smashed into the ground a lot, can't see them lasting long. The videos of mini loaders using them just don't seam to show them off very well imo

I've got a Skidster M10X which came with an auger including an 18" one 

If it can power that into the ground I'm sure a cone would be a walk in the park 

Mine has aux rate of 25/min

Pressure is the main thing you need to run one not flow rate that is just speed.

just checked out of interest, 180 bar or 2600 psi

thats what mine is anyhow

There definitely needs to be a minimum pressure, but speed is actually pretty crucial, in my experience.  Not only is it simply much more productive, but on certain timbers it seems to give the wood less time to react and therefore 'pops' more aggressively than if the cone was going slower.  

The avant in the photo runs at 66lm, on both pumps.

But having said all that 33lm will still get the job done.  For me it's not really about making firewood as income, but just processing all the nasty offcuts and big lumps into something useable/sellable, to keep the cycle of things ticking over.

hoping it will do the job as ive just ordered one!

I only want to break down the big lumps into half or quarters to make it easier to lift onto the vertical splitter.

I’ve got the black splitter version for my multione. 
 

Don’t use it often but it’s there if I need it and since it simply bolts onto the rotator head it’s easily inter changeable with wire brush, riddling drum, auger etc. 
 

Main difference between mini loader / mini digger with a cone splitter, I’d say, is blade is really useful on mini digger as a ‘stop’ to prevent chunks from spinning. Not too tricky to get around with a bit of practice.

how do you find the cone splitter i have a 530 andlooking to get a cone, i like the compact nature of it, what cone did you go for? cheers
