PPE for labourer

I’ve got a day subbing as a labourer soon and was wondering if anyone knows roughly what PPE I would be expected to bring? I’ve got helmet, jacket, gloves but don’t have saw trousers or chainsaw boots (just steel toe boots and standard work trousers).

would a labourer be expected to wear these things even if not operating a saw? Any advise here would be great, cheers!

Agree entirely with the above. However, if you end up doing this work with any frequency, wearing a pair of chainsaw trousers if it is not 20 degrees centigrade will offer you protection against other people with saws (lets face it most people get too close occasionally) and also against scraped shins etc if you trip, or drop a piece of timber etc.

Best to ask ur boss when u confirm dates/times

On the railways chipper monkeys had to wear cutting trousers.

On another site normal H&S was mental and thou the roof but they hadnae a clue about chainsaw work, 1 off chipper lads had his rigger boots cut.

A very lucky boy.
