Hello ,

When you say there’s no power going to the control box , do you mean that you’ve actually tested for power in the junction box or do you mean ‘the display doesn’t light up’ ?

Jase.

Anyway, with the Schliesing waiting for parts and work backing up I got this.
I think it complements the Schliesing well in the sense that it’s a very different machine.

Seems clean and tidy, chips nice, all new cutting wheel and bearings  after a non patent blade disintegration at the cost of €6k in August (I have the receipts)

Bought it. Nothing for hire in the area.

I’ve been off for more than 12 working days cos of lack of chipper, that’s costly.

I have wanted to get a good sub 750kg for a bit so anyone can tow it.

Lots of work doesn’t need anything bigger anyway.

There was a TW230 near this one in Paris which would have been my preference but it was an ex hire job and looked shabby.

I’m happy with this, getting someone to feed it is the next conundrum!

How some tree surgeon run with no back up chipper must be only time when they have major problem and when they are not any good with spanners and have to get someone to repair it and they say will look at it in about 2_3 weeks.

Well, I did have a back up, a Forst ST8, or was the Schliesing a back up for the Forst? I don’t know really. I flogged it and kept the money.

15k seems a lot of money as a just in case, but here we are.

I am pleased that the two chippers cover different jobs, but can cover each other in an emergency.

Keeping two similar chippers if you are a one gang outfit, just in case, is not sensible IMO.
