Nice idea, but genuine question, how do you plan to routinely inspect the condition of the entire sling before placing it in the tree and putting it under load?
Is there enough slack to spin the sling, or do you just have to assume that the sling within the pipe is undamaged or fatigued in any way...

Oh, I thought it was spliced onto rope. So the pipe has the sling closed and rings in position. I don't think I would trust the pipe not to burst/split then all hell would break loose! I might just be a chicken s@#t though. I never like to have doubts about my gear when at a decent ht rigging hundreds of kg. Clearing up squished groundies adds hours on the job! J.
