I have a tree book somewhere will have to dig it out and see what it says just wondering if anybody on here had developed an allergy to WRC or any timber after yrs of using it

A bit about reactions on the wood database.

Someone here started a thread on the reactions and toxicity of wood and posted up a word doc for it. Might be worth a look back?

I only remember larch and london plane as causing irritation but there wasn't much WRC then, although the FC were planting a lot in mix with beech.

I had a customer who was an army doctor and then navy gynaecologist who was a serious wood worker, he developed a reaction to sawdust over time such that he could only work using a full ventilated helmet. I guess the body gets used to an irritant and then reaches a stage where it over reacts, like toxic shock, cytokine storm and anaphylactic shock.

Lodgepole Pine does me, and am i glad we dont cut much of it, gives me a headache runny nose and a sore throat, and it leaves a awful piney disinfectant taste in my throat for a few days, Openspaceman mentioned Larch being bad, when we was cutting infected larch a few years back i or any of the others i worked with never mentioned owt about Larch,
