Wanting to buy some and don't know what they are worth?

What redwood are you looking for?  Larch,Douglas and Cedar? Prices are holding up well with a little variation

Redwood, as in Sequoia.

Ideally looking at a value of a 3m x 48" log hopefully with little taper as it would be a more central section at that size.

Would make sense, if it's not something that's in demand it'll go for Biomass prices which is what you were offered it at.

Yup, exactly that. He’d already quartered a bunch with chainsaw so the biomass guys would take it before realising millers would take it for the same price without the hassle of cutting them in 4 bits.

Is that biomass prices?

I have no idea what they are as I am not involved with that side of things on the trees.

If you mean mid point diameter of 4 feet that is a big log, and will contain 3.5 cubic metres of timber.  I have bought Sequoia recently and I paid £100 per cubic metre delivered, but then I pay over the odds to get logs that I know I will make good money from.  In reality large Sequoia logs like that can be tricky to sell as most mills would have no use for them.

a small mill near me had some Larch logs 300mm + diameter at 3.7mtr and they worked out at £138 a tonne delivered including VAT
