I was wondering whether anyone knows if used/empty 20 litre chain oil containers are either recycled anywhere or refillable somewhere or if they would cause a problem on a pick up or tractor engine if I were to say, rinse out with diesel, and use them for diesel storage. It seems somehow wrong/shame to throw them away or dispose of them well...... or badly....

Ok for diesel but use a filter when filling from used drums, my tractor fuel line from tank to filter on engine was rammed full of little ribbons of plastic from inside of oregon chain oil drums! Took ages to clear.

Old 20/25l drums have loads of uses, I use them for diesel, used engine oil, water for knapsack spraying, ballast weights etc

Cut the sides open, thread 2 bits of rope through, and they make good strong trugs for carrying logs, tools etc.

Oil drain pan

Water trough for animals (I have one in with the hens)

Parts & tool tray for when you're working under vehicles

The plastic (hdpe) they're made from is very durable, frost proof, can be thrown about, kicked, dropped :damnmate:

25l drum tool tote

This one has been in use for years!

Just drill 4 holes for the rope and poke it through, then melt the rope ends into a blob
