Well I have taken the plunge and have a woodlands 130 max coming soon. Hopefully this is a good choice.

I was struggling to decide between a woodland mill or a track met but found Chris at woodland easyer to get on with and talk too.

Good mate of mine is chris and only 8 miles from me and most helpful

Chris is one of the reasons I bought my woodlands, he was the only rep at the APF show I went to who actually used the machine they were selling and could answer all my questions without looking up in the sales bumf or passing me on to someone else.

Good guy too when things go tits up.

I have done some cutting for him in the past and he does know his woodlands mills inside out ?

I am a fan of Wales, I spend quite a few weekends there falling off of mountain bikes.

Any advice on setting up/ getting started.

Is it gonna be mobile or permanently located somewhere ??

Good choice of mill for the money I’d say, that the latest wider throat model you’ve just got ??

It will have a trailer built for it. And yes it's a wide throat max version.

It's all about the stabilisers until they hit a rock...

that will be a decent set up once done. I find the limits regarding what you can do are dictated by the ability to move the log/cant onto the bed and the rotating positioning of it once on. Ideally some form of loader/telehandler on site would be a huge help. Wide throat will definitely be an advantage at times. I’d say build the trailer to be way over strength as the size of logs that it will take will not be light. The log in the pics was 28 -30 inch diameter and working on my own that’s about he max I can do anything with, as previously said I’d be getting things done in a fraction of the time if I had a decent loader as the cutting is quite quick but the moving and handling is pretty slow when done manually.
