Brashers all day long, mine get proper abused, two years now, still water tight, still comfy and do on average five hours walking in rough woodland with them on a weekend, as well as day to day used cos i hate trainers, these are the best boots in the world IMO, love em.

I used Brashers for surveying & general wear when not requiring protection at work.

Although comfy, mine only lasted 6 months before the soul started talking.

Can anyone recommend some good boots?

I was thinking of getting these Meindl Burma Goretex - anyone have them?

I have two pairs of these boots and can highly recommend them, still got my first pair and their about 7 years old, they look rough but still very comfy:thumbup1:

My advice is to go for all leather one peice uppers and a boot with replaceable Vibram soles. If you look after the leather it will last for ever. I have a pair of Zamberlan hiking boots that are 13 years old and still have loads of life left in them.

I also have a pair of boreal boots which are 10 years old. I have put loads of miles on these and the soles just dont seem to wear. I was walking on Dartmoor in them 2 days ago and they are still waterproof.
