There is a large drawbar trailer going on the back of it for wood chip or whatever really. Would that influence the axle configuration? I don’t know , biggest thing I’ve driven is unimogs so nothing this sort of size.

Bob I've gone for a 6 wheeler to keep the whole thing as short and light as possible. Have have to upgrade the front axle to 10t the take the weight of the crane. That will leave me with approx 6t payload on the back. I don't have any experience with hgvs so have had to collect as much info as I can and make the best decisions I can based on it. Hopefully I hadn't made too many mistakes [emoji16]

Hope I'm not repeating anyone here but I saw this video a while  back and thought it was ace. If you did council tree work you'd be powering through them with these kinds of set ups. You'd be finished and off to the next tree by time a standard team has got their rope bags out.

Yep its the high speed that i like on mine and  the safety aspect as well

the only mistake i can see is that the reach is too short .I hope you are getting a manual section as part of the package .It is definitely required to keep the expensive stuff from getting squashed

Be interesting to see how this goes in terms of ‘Hire Only’ or ‘Contract Lift’ as discussed elsewhere?

 

I would assume you’ll stay out of the Lifting Operation territory a little like Tree Shears do when cutting and lowering with the Felling Head, but as soon as you hold a limb and have someone in the Tree cutting it for you, there’s no way around the fact it’s a straightforward lift and doing the work of a Crane?

 

Going to impact rates if it does turn into a full Contract Lift service as the whole operation will have to be planned and supervised correctly.

I predict a few stand offs on site as the details of who covers what is sorted out.

I’d suggest you look into going with the CPA for their terms/conditions/backup.

I have the T shirt for having a specialist setup being torched, and 12 months is a long long time when your main earning machine is away being mended.

Worked with this one today.

Two large trees done in 4 hours,would have been a week long job otherwise.

 

95 tonne meter is about the most versatile size for residential work imho.
