Husqvarna XP power fuel

If this is pretty much a repeat of any recent post, let me know where to find any comments and we can abandon this thread - but I couldn't find any.

I'm thinking of giving any alkalyte fuel a go as being in a nigh on constant cloud of benzene and wood dust 6 days a week I think is making me feel a bit ropey, and although coppicing doesn't really lend itself financially to paying what the alternative fuels cost I'd rather still be breathing normally for a few more years. I have a couple of 545's that have run only on usual unleaded mix, and a mate is desperate to shift a 550 so I may buy that and use the alkalyte just in that one. Is the shift from normal to alkaylte likely to cause any running issues, cheers

The Husqvarna XP Power fuel is developed for the auto tune saws, it has the Husqvarna full synthetic oil mixed with it, this is all we run in the service dept, even in machines that have been running on pump fuel with no issues, we did use Aspen, but now use the Husqvarna fuel, we did have some issues with Aspen, some strange seizures and machines that would not run on it, plus we were never sure about the quality of the two stroke oil in it.

These are our findings from a very busy service dept, pretty sure somebody will be along soon with a different opinion.

I've got four two-stroke saws, all running well on MotoMix. Two were bought new and have only ever seen MotoMix. Two were bought second hand, previous owners running them on petrol mix. I did nothing to convert them and they're fine.

Don't know what size of stuff you're coppicing? Have you tried a top of the range battery saw (and decent batteries to match)? Zero exhaust fumes in your face

ps don't tell anyone, they're cheaper to run :002:

Wranglerstar just did a video comparing a Dewalt battery saw to a Stihl 260. Not the fairest test but I think it helps decision making. I've just bought a battery saw and I'm going to buy more. They're excellent.

No duty and 5% VAT on electricity. 58p/litre duty and 20% VAT on petrol. A moral imperative!

Interesting, I did have a quick browse at battery saws but ruled them out as probably lacking the power - but this is only paling wood stems, the biggest generally at the moment would be 8 inch. I think i need to look at a few comparison vids. I'm not a health nut but generally the forestry blokes are probably more at risk of side effects than most tree workers as the saws are running pretty much constantly

Not even the biggest battery saws will piss through 8 inches.
