I’m looking at cleaning my Teufelberger hipstar landyard, I’m finding that the friction cord at the pinto pulley end is not letting the rope run freely when taking in. I used the landyard this Saturday & Sunday, the weather on Saturday was heavy down pours which made the tree climbing very hard and the green algae from the tree was coating the landyard thus making the landyard very hard to work.

I only want to clean the landyard and the friction cord has my main climbing line ok still clean. I’m wanting to hand wash as there’s only two small items, I was thinking about putting the two in the next wash but I’m not wanting to damage the rope and the cord.

Thanks Paul Tomo...

Thanks for the quick feedback, I’ll buy some Teufelberger scrubba rope cleaner on my next order of climbing gear, until then I’ll hand wash them in the sink with a little hair shampoo and then hang to dry.

thanks again

I chuck everything in washing machine with hair shampoo. Gentle wash , gets most of shit out. K

Washing machine every time! I've never had problems with spinning it either - gets gear dry really quick!

I’ve cleaned my Teufelberger hipsta with lukewarm water and a little bit of washing up liquid, I couldn’t believe how much muck was washed off the rope. I will be buying some rope cleaner for the future.

thanks for the feedback.
